I'm A Celebrity 2022 contestant Mike Tindall's massive home, relationship to the King and being the first royal on ITV series

Mike Tindall will be the first ever member of the Royal family to enter the jungle for I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! He has been pictured landing in Australia and talking to journalists about facing the jungle.

He told reporters it would be the longest time he would be away from his wife Zara Phillips, who is the daughter of Princess Anne, as The Sun reports. He said: "It’s probably one of the longest times we’ve been away completely with no communication. When you go away you still have communication, so that’s obviously going to be the hardest bit."

Mike also said he would give the horrible challenges his best shot as he wants to win stars for camp. He said: "You've just got to get your head around doing what you’re doing and try and win some stars and stuff and see where you go from there. I want to win stars because I want to eat!" Ahead of Mike entering the jungle here is everything you need to know about the royal.

Mike is married to Zara who is the daughter of Princess Anne. Zara carries no royal titles as due to royal tradition children can only inherit titles from their fathers. This means that Mike also has no royal titles, unlike Kate Middleton who became the Duchess of Cambridge when she married Prince William.

Mike and Zara have been married for 11 years after tying the knot in 2011 at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh. As Zara is King Charles' niece this makes Mike the King's nephew-in-law. Zara is 20th in line to the British throne.

The couple lives on Princess Anne's 730-acre estate, Gatcombe Park Estate. The estate is in Gloucestershire and Zara, Mike and their three children, Mia, Lena and Lucas, moved there in 2013.

Both Mike and Zara are very private about their personal lives however have revealed glimpses into their home. They have a home gym, with exposed brick walls and a Union Jack on display, a very spacious garden, a home office and in 2018 submitted planning permission to add a conservatory to their home, as Hello! has reported.

Before meeting Zara and joining the Royal family, Mike was a rugby union player. He played for Bath and Gloucester and earned 75 caps playing for England. In 2003 he was part of the English squad that won the Rugby World Cup, which was also where he met Zara. Mike retired from rugby in 2014.

Since being part of the Royal family Mike has been involved in TV projects including Loose Men when men take over the ITV daytime show Loose Women. He currently hosts the podcast The Good, The Bad & The Rugby with James Haskell and Alex Payne.

Appearing on I'm A Celebrity will be another big TV move for Mike and a very modern move for the Royal family, who are re-structuring after the death of the Queen.
