Mike Tindall predicts 'interesting' Christmas gifts from Royal Family after I'm A Celeb stint

Mike Tindall has said that he could be in for some jokey presents from the royal family under the Christmas tree this year as they poke fun at his stint on I'm A Celebrity.

The former rugby star, who has been married to Princess Anne's daughter Zara Tindall since 2011, said that his royal in-laws were likely to see the funny side of his jungle antics when he returns to the UK. Mike, 44, appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside runner-up Owen Warner to chat about the family's response to his appearance on I'm A Celeb.

Host Susanna Reid asked how many members of the royal family had watched him on the ITV show and what their thoughts were, to which Mike replied: "I don't right now, but I'm sure I'll find out at some point. Christmas is around the corner - let's see if some interesting gifts come underneath that tree.

"There's some sense of humour kicking around in the family, so yeah, I'll wait for some interesting gifts to see how many people were watching." Susanna then quizzed him on whether his mother-in-law Princess Anne may have tuned in to hear him recount an embarrassing story to his campmates about the time he split his trousers in front of her - while wearing underwear that read 'nibble my nuts'.

Covering his face with embarrassment as Susanna referenced the incident, Mike said: "I don't think she was watching, but I think Zara might have told her. I'm pretty sure it's probably etched into her memory banks for all the wrong reasons, so I'll bashfully hide away from that one when I get home."

Mike gave viewers some interesting insights into royal life during his time in the jungle, even surprising Owen with details of what sleepovers were like at Buckingham Palace. "In the morning, could you go down in your joggers and t-shirt or did you have to get dressed up again?" Owen asked.

"No, jeans and a tee," Mike replied, much to Owen's surprise as he remarked that he thought everyone would have to be "suited and booted" for the occasion. Before meeting him on the bridge following his exit from camp, Zara penned her husband a proud message from her and their three children.

"Hi my love, we are missing you so much and really needing some papa hugs, but glad you’re sharing them with your campmates," she wrote in a sweet letter that was read out in camp. "The girls are enjoying sports and throwing themselves into everything at the moment and the little man is loving life, smashing it up, learning some new words."
