Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino beams while pictured in prison for the first time

Jersey Shore star The Situation makes it look like life on the inside isn’t so bad after all as he posed up a storm with his friends and lover from inside jail.

The 37-year-old MTV reality star - whose real name is Mike Sorrentino - is in the midst of serving an eight month prison sentence after being busted for tax evasion.

The star was sentenced to prison with an as well as two years of supervised probation and 500 hours of community service in October last year.

He arrived in Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in January this year - and is expected to walk free in September.

However, being behind bars hasn’t stopped the reality star from keeping fans abreast of his developments - or even profiting from his… situation.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Mike revealed he had been paid a visit by wife Lauren Pesce, 34, and fellow Jersey Shore stars DJ Pauly D (38-year-old Paul DelVecchio) and Vinny Guadagnino, 31.

The quartet posed up a storm as they took photos together - with Mike clearly wearing his prison garb.

“Tough Times Don’t Last, Tough People Do #FreeSitch,” the reality star captioned the photos.

Wife Lauren also tried to be optimistic, sharing the same batch of photographs and writing: “THE COMEBACK is always GREATER than the setback.”

Despite being halfway through his prison term, Mike is managing to maintain a heavy presence on social media - with regular updates and posts on his Instagram.

He has even branched out with a brand of merchandise called Free Stitch - featuring t-shirts and other apparel adorned with his face and catchphrases including “Free Stitch” and “the comeback is always greater than the setback.”
