Mike Thalassitis' restaurant opens month after Love Island star's tragic death

Mike Thalassitis ' restaurant has opened its doors one month after his tragic death.

The Love Island star was found dead on March 15.

He'd spent the last months of his life working hard to open Essex cafe The Skillet alongside his business partner Scott Neilson.

Just over a month after he took his own life, his friend has made sure his dream was realised.

Mike's reality star mates, including Scott Thomas and Montana Brown, headed to the Loughton restaurant for a launch party on Friday night.

The restaurant officially opened to the public today.

Scott had confirmed last month that the restaurant opening would be going ahead after Mike's death.

He said in a statement: "Just to address all the speculation. I would like to make it clear that we will be opening The Skillet when it is ready, it has been a tough week trying to continue to sort things out.

"However, Mike would've wanted this cafe to open, he spent everyday for the past couple of months working hard to make this place a success so we are pulling together to get this ready for everyone and especially for Mike.

"Can't wait to share it with you all, and I will announce the date of the opening shortly."

Montana spoke excitedly about her visit to The Skillet on her Instagram story last night.

She told fans: "Hi everyone. I just got back from a curry night with the girls but I thought I'd update everyone on the official launch of The Skillet.

"I went today and it was amazing, I can't believe it, it's all finally come together. I wish Mike was here to see it, I'm so, so proud of him, and I can't wait for you guys to get down there and get some grub.
