Mike Solari taking Seahawks offensive line to another level

Last week following Wednesday’s open OTA, Seahawks left tackle Duane Brown told reporters Seattle’s offensive line had a chance to be the best in the league. He isn’t the only member of the squad who feels that way.

“If you look at this O-line we have right now, we’re huge,” George Fant told 710 ESPN Seattle’s John Clayton. “We’re anywhere from 320 to 360 or 370, across that line. So, we’re embracing that run first smack them in the mouth mentality and I think upstairs is, too.”

Both Brown and Fant give credit to coach Mike Solari, who is now entering his second season at the helm of the Seahawks offensive line after replacing Tom Cable.

Solari coached Seattle’s line from 2008-2009 and spent time with the 49ers, Packers and Giants before rejoining the Seahawks staff. He is widely regarded around the league, but no one appreciates him as much as his players.

“I love Mike, man,” Fant said. “He’s good; he’s really technically sound, wants you to have high technical skills. He wants everything done right, slows everything down, wants you to get it right and keep doing it ’till you get it right.

“I think he really brought not just myself – but a lot of guys in that room – games to another level.”
