Mike Phelan sends message to Manchester United fans ahead of Barcelona game in Champions League

Manchester United assistant Mike Phelan has called on fans to create an atmosphere at Old Trafford for the Champions League quarter final first leg against Barcelona.

United take on the Spanish giants in their first quarter final in five years, after a historical comeback against PSG in the last-16.

United were 2-0 down after the first leg defeat at Old Trafford, and needed a Romelu Lukaku double and injury time penalty from Marcus Rashford to complete an incredible turnaround in Paris.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping for a better result in the home leg when Barcelona visit in order to give them the best chance of progression to the semi-finals.

And Phelan - credited with having a huge impact on United's improved fortunes since Solskjaer took over in December - has called upon the fans to help the team on Wednesday night.

He tweeted a video showing the pre-match atmosphere from the PSG home leg, and told fans to enjoy their day and get behind United tonight.

The tweet said: "Morning all... enjoy your day. Bring it on. Let's hear you tonight."

Fans typically loved the message, as excitement for the game builds.
