Mike Perry facing lengthy recovery timeline after surgery for broken nose

Mike Perry will be out of action for several months after undergoing surgery to repair a broken nose suffered in his loss to Vicente Luque at UFC on ESPN+ 14.

Perry (13-5 MMA, 6-5 UFC) came out on the wrong end of a split decision against Luque (17-6-1 MMA, 10-2 UFC) in the welterweight co-headliner Saturday, but he left the octagon with more than a loss. “Platinum” left a lot of blood on the canvas, and also had his nose utterly disfigured.

It was straight from the cage to the hospital for Perry, who had a roughly hourlong procedure to clean up all the damage to his nose, a member of his team told MMA Junkie.

“Platinum” took to social media to share a photo from the hospital bed after completing surgery (via Instagram):

After going under the knife, Perry is expected to remain in Montevideo, Uruguay, until Monday before he return to Florida.

It won’t be a short recovery timeline for Perry, either. He’s currently anticipated to be out six months before being cleared for any contact to the nose.
