Mike Muscala’s deal with the Thunder reportedly for two years, includes option

Even after the Oklahoma City Thunder allowed Mike Muscala to reconsider the commitment he made to the team on the first day of NBA free agency, the big man decided to join the organization — which looks much different than the one was initially set to sign with.

Maybe it had to do with Thunder general manager Sam Presti making the trip to Muscala’s home in Minnesota. Perhaps Muscala didn’t have much of a  market beyond Oklahoma City. Or, where he once saw an opportunity to play for a winning team, maybe now he sees a chance to improve his stock for his next run in free agency — which could be in the summer of 2020.

According to Michael Scotto of The Athletic, Muscala agreed to play for the Thunder for two seasons to the tune of $4.31 million. However, the big man has the chance to move on after his first year in Oklahoma City, with his deal including a player option.
