Mike McCarthy fired up the Dallas Cowboys by smashing watermelons

Mike McCarthy hasn’t had the best start to his tenure as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys but Sunday’s win over the Vikings in Minneapolis was a big one that gave his team some life in the dreadful NFC East.

McCarthy reportedly found an interesting way to fire up his guys during Saturday’s final meeting before the game – he smashed a bunch of watermelons with a sledgehammer in what was a total football guy move that his players loved.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero has the details on this story, which includes McCarthy bashing watermelons so much that his pants were drenched. Each watermelon had a different objective written on it and then he’d smash the watermelon and his players would go nuts.

One of his players got so fired up that he ended up smashing one, too. You need to hear this:

That is all so… incredible.
