Sunday morning’s practice session in Allen Park will mark the Detroit Lions debut of new defensive tackle Mike Daniels. Head coach Matt Patricia acknowledged in his pre-practice press conference that Daniels will participate in the Sunday workout.
We now know what jersey number the ex-Packer will wear, too. Daniels is No. 96 in Honolulu blue and silver.
Daniels rocked No. 76 during his Packers career, but that number is currently taken by offensive lineman Oday Aboushi in Detroit. In fact, every number in the 70s is currently being used by another Lion. The only open numbers for defensive players above 70 are 90, and 97 after Daniels snapped up 96.
