Mike Boateng's brother blames Love Island editing for not getting him to final

Mike Boateng's brother Andrew has pinned the blame on ITV producers after the Love Island star narrowly missed out on a place in last night's final.

Days before the show's climax, Mike and Priscilla were given the boot from the villa after losing the last public vote off.

Sharing a snap of the couple back in London, Andrew Boateng posted on Instagram: "They're back! Spent some quality time with these two. They're so close it's unreal!

"They really tried it with how they edited these two, but the world will see how amazing they are."

Viewers had complained that they had barely seen Mike and Priscilla in some episodes while others accused the former policeman of playing up to the cameras.

Mike quickly reshared Andrew's sentiments on his own social media page - which now boasts more than 300,000 followers.

He also shared a live Twitter reaction that indicated he was the most talked about contestant of the entire winter series.

Mike and Priscilla had been gutted to miss out on a place in the final as Paige Turley and Finn Tapp, Siânise Fudge and Luke Trotman, Demi Jones and Luke Mabbott, Jess Gale and Ched Uzor made it through without them.

In the end it was Paige and Finn that took home the £50,000 prize fund with Mike taking to Instagram to share his delight at the overall winners.

After jetting home from South Africa, Mike tuned into Sunday's live final from what appeared to be a press office, alongside girlfriend Priscilla and a team of workers.

Mike's older twin brothers, Andrew and Samuel, had been busy supporting Mike on the outside while he was away and even headed into the villa last week for the friends and family episode.

Priscilla's mum also made an appearance on the show to meet Mike and give him plenty of advice.

The matriarch let Mike know there are certain rules to follow when it comes to her daughter, with him insisting he’ll do “whatever it takes”.

But despite their loved-up display, Mike and Priscilla were the final couple to be dumped ahead of the final with Paige Turley and Finn Tap going on to win the show.
