Mike Ashley 'agrees to sell Newcastle' to cousin of Manchester City owner

Mike Ashley has agreed a deal to finally sell Newcastle - according to reports.

The former Rangers shareholder will sell the club for £350million to the cousin of Manchester City owner Sheik Mansour.

Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan had previously tried to buy Liverpool but a move fell through.

And now, according to the Sun, contracts have been submitted to the Premier League about the sale.

Mike Ashley said his vision would encourage businesses like Sports Direct to open more stores (PA)

If the deal is completed, it means Ashley's rocky relationship with the club and its fans will be over after 12 years in charge.

Sheikh Khaled is a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family and failed in his £2billion bid to buy Liverpool.

Ashley has been trying to sell the club over the past couple of years with numerous deals falling through.

The club haven't won a trophy since 1969 and Ashley has regularly been criticised for his lack of investment.
