Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati invited on Wednesday Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to visit Lebanon at the earliest opportunity.
Shoukry said the invitation comes in light of the strong relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
Mikati received Wednesday a phone call from Shoukry, who congratulated him on the formation of the new government.
The Egyptian FM wished Mikati success in dealing with the major challenges facing Lebanon, amid the tough economic situation in the country.
Shoukry also affirmed that Egypt spares no effort to coordinate with sisterly and friendly countries to achieve what is in the interest of the Lebanese people.
He said Egypt’s efforts aim to bring the situations in Beirut back to the time before Lebanon’s conditions worsened, through providing support in various fields.
