Mikael Lustig makes Premier League quip as former Celtic star reacts to Odsonne Edouard debut

His one-in-two record for Celtic is testament to the fact Odsonne Edouard didn't find goals hard to come by in Scottish football.

And after a six-minute double on his Premier League debut, former team-mate Mikael Lustig joked that the Frenchman would find scoring "easier down south" than he did in the Scottish Premiership.

Coming off the bench for Palace in their 3-0 win over Tottenham yesterday, the 23-year-old notched the Eagles' second with his first touch on 84 minutes before bagging a second strike in stoppage time.

It was a big win for the Selhurst Park club and new boss Patrick Vieira and, for Swedish international Lustig, proof if we need it of Edouard's credentials to cut it in English football.

Commenting on Edouard's Instagram post celebrating his brace and the South London club's win, Lustig said: "Easier down south for sure!"

Wilfried Zaha got the opener from the penalty spot for Palace as they saw off their London rivals to register their first win over the season.

The result knocked Spurs off the top of the Premier League standings in the process.
