BOSTON _ White Sox right-hander Miguel Gonzalez gave up seven earned runs over 12/3 innings, and the Red Sox ran away with a 9-5 victory in the opener of a four-game series at Fenway Park.
Rafael Devers and Mookie Betts each hit two-run homers off Gonzalez, who allowed more hits (seven) than he recorded outs (five). Hanley Ramirez had an RBI double in the first and an RBI single in the second to end Gonzalez's night.
It was Gonzalez's shortest outing of the season.
