Miguel Almiron's agent reveals Inter Milan interest as he doubles down on Newcastle exit comments

Miguel Almiron's agent Daniel Campos has claimed Italian giants Inter Milan are keen to sign the Newcastle United midfielder.

Campos revealed in a bombshell interview last week that Almiron may leave Newcastle last summer to join a team who enjoy more possession-based football.

He also claimed that Spanish side Atletico Madrid were interested in his client and that Almiron could well have already left had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic.

Newcastle have declined to comment on those revelations so far but he has now doubled down on those comments and has claimed the Paraguay international has caught the eye of recent Europa League finalists Inter Milan.

“Almirón can play in various positions and is always available to the coach wherever he needs him," Campos told Europa Calcio.

"Obviously he stands out more in offensive positions and with ball possession, but he has no difficulty in assuming other roles to the advantage of the team.

“Almirón is happy at Newcastle and when the time comes we will analyse it. Now his reality is Newcastle and qualification for the World Cup with Paraguay.”

When quizzed about the Atletico Madrid interest revealed by himself earlier this week, he said it was just 'rumours' at the moment but the representative revealed that a Italian side have shown an interest in the 26-year-old.

“Inter have shown interest in Miguel Almiron, but no progress has been made.”
