Miguel Almiron's agent offers transfer verdict as Newcastle United star nets Paraguay brace

Miguel Almiron's agent doesn't see the player leaving Newcastle United this summer despite a first-team overhaul expected. The winger, who impressed towards the business end of last season, has been tipped to leave Tyneside this summer.

Almiron showed exactly what he could do on Friday, scoring an impressive brace for Paraguay in the 2-2 draw with South Korea. The 26-year-old was withdrawn in the 75th minute before Paraguay conceded the equaliser.

Hours before the Man of the Match performance, Almiron's agent took to the airwaves in his home country yet again to discuss his client's future - and the likelihood of him remaining at Newcastle beyond the summer.

“He is at the best club in the world. He is happy with prominence; I don’t see any possibility of change now,” Campos told Versus Radio. "They are going to change everything, structure, youth, women’s soccer, everything is going to change.”

Campos is no stranger to speaking out about Almiron's future, constantly updating Newcastle fans when it comes to the former Atlanta United star. Just a few weeks ago the agent was claiming the attacker had a £60m release clause in his Magpies contract.

"We don’t have any definitive interest shown by any club," he said. "Usually, the clubs negotiate within themselves but don’t contact the agent. He has a release clause of £60 million. He is happy to stay at the club and most importantly, he is playing.”

Almiron is a player Eddie Howe clearly likes, with the Newcastle boss praising the player on numerous occasions in recent months. The wide man featured heavily in the final few games of the season with Ryan Fraser on the sidelines through injury.
