Migrant worker arrested for cyber stalking

Cyber Crime police of Rachakonda police commissionerate arrested a migrant labourer from Bihar, allegedly for harassing a woman and her family online.

Police said 28-year-old Mohammed Israel had morphed pictures of the victim, posted them online and described her obscenely.

According to police, Israel, hailing from Matiari village of Kishanganj in Bihar, had been a worker at Sadupally village in Abdullapurmet mandal. He used to frequent the vegetable shop in the locality and in due course developed an interest towards the woman there.

He obtained her cellphone number and kept calling her. Once, when he video called her, he took the screenshots, and later morphed them as she stopped responding to the calls. Israel had posted the pictures online, ciruclated them over WhatsApp and even sent them to her family members, the police said.

He was arrested and booked for stalking, outraging the modesty of a woman and under related provisions of the IT Act.
