A Sudanese migrant who drowned while trying to cross the England Channel to the UK has been named.
Abdulfatah Hamdallah was carrying documents saying he was 28, The Independent reports.
His friend, who survived, had told French authorities that Abdulfatah was 16.
Philippe Sabatier, Boulogne-sur-Mer's deputy public prosecutor, said the pair had been living at the "Jungle" camp in Calais for two months before attempting to cross the sea in a dinghy.
Tragically he died when the tiny vessel capsized.

Mr Sabatier said: “I don’t know if he had applied for asylum with British authorities, but he appears to have done so with the French authorities.”
Abdulfatah's body was discovered at Sangatte, near Calais, on Wednesday morning.
He is thought to have died within a few minutes of entering the water, while the friend survived with minor injuries and hypothermia.
Describing how the unidentified victim died trying to reach the coast of Britain, Mr Sabatier said it was “an absolute tragedy”.

“The surviving migrant who accompanied him said that they had attempted the Channel crossing on board a small inflatable dinghy which they had stolen from a beach hut,” said Mr Sabatier.
“They had also equipped themselves with spades as oars. One of them accidentally punctured the craft with a spade and the two men fell into the water. Only the one who could swim managed to survive.”
