Midtjylland in transfer flux ahead of Celtic showdown as star man heads for the exit door

Midtjylland are on the verge of selling one of their best players ahead of their crunch Champions League clash with Celtic next month.

Star midfielder Frank Onyeka is poised to join Brentford this week - with both clubs owned by the same holding company.

An £11.5m move is set to be rubber-stamped imminently and it comes amid a host of players being linked with moves away from the Danish side.

Sweden international Jens Cajuste has been tipped for a switch to Borussia Monchengladbach and striker Sory Kaba is understood to be a target for both Watford and Swansea.

And there's also the small matter of Erik Sviatchenko being eyed for a return to former club Celtic just weeks before the sides face off in a vital qualifying clash.

Midtjylland are no strangers to revamping their squad with their data-driven 'Moneyball' approach based on identifying future stars who they can sell on for profit.

Celtic are also set to be active in terms of incomings and outgoings in the coming weeks after Ange Postecoglou arrived in Glasgow on Wednesday.

The Australian will assess his squad before taking them to Wales for a pre-season trip in the build-up to the showdown with Midtjylland.
