A rally with Steve Bannon in Kansas reportedly attracted around 25 people.
Mr Bannon, a former adviser to Donald Trump, appeared at the rally in a Holiday Inn in North Topeka.
His speech attracted around 25 people, including the event's organisers and a group following Mr Bannon for a documentary, the Topeka Capital-Journal reported.
Invites for the rally, dubbed "Red Tide Rising", were sent out via text message.
Mr Bannon told those gathered that if Trump supporters did not vote in the midterm elections "we're going to lose this".
He also referred to himself as "sloppy Steve", a name given to him by Mr Trump after he was quoted making critical remarks about the president in Michael Wolff's book Fire and Fury.
Despite the event featuring posters for Steve Watkins, the Republican candidate, his campaign told the paper they had nothing to do with the rally.
It comes after Mr Bannon was interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller's team last week, at least the third time he has met with them, according to CNN.
After leaving the White House, Mr Bannon has been throwing his weight behind far-right politicians in Europe and elsewhere in an attempt to shake up the global order.
