
Visitors watch goldfish and carp swim in a tank at the Art Aquarium 2018 event at Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall in Tokyo. Scheduled to run through Sept. 24, the event is a modern variation of an Edo-period (1603-1867) entertainment where people admired swimming goldfish to feel cool. The show includes tanks housing about 8,000 fish. A globe and a folding screen are among the tanks' 15 different shapes, while some are adorned with motifs of Edo kiriko glass carving.
