Midlothian's 'Lord of the Rings' reunites man with lost wedding band after losing it at local dump

Staff at a Midlothian recycling centre were thrilled this week after they reunited a local man with his wedding ring.

Last week the council put out an appeal on Facebook in an attempt to find the man who had lost his wedding band at the dump earlier that day.

Stuart Urquhart, from Bonnyrigg, had been loading items into a skip when his ring had fallen off.

At the time two members of staff, George Kenderdine and Ryan Law, helped the man search for the ring but unfortunately they were unable to find it.

However in a streak of pure luck, once the man had left the dump and headed home the ring was found outside the skip when it was being moved.

Luckily the appeal on social media was able to track down Stuart and he was given back the ring by staff member Ryan Law who had been keeping it safe at the site.

Stuart thanked Ryan, who has since been dubbed as 'Lord of the Rings', on behalf of both himself and his wife, who had feared the ring was lost forever.

Midlothian locals were pleased to hear the news, with one user commenting "great work, well done", whilst another said "who doesn't love a happy ending".
