Midlothian locals left fuming after 'teens trash beauty spot' in drunken meet up

Frustrated Penicuik locals have hit out at teens after pictures emerged of the aftermath of a drunken meet-up at a Midlothian beauty spot.

According to an eyewitness, a group of 'kids between the age of 14 - 16' gathered at the spot where they consumed bottle of vodka and cans of alcohol.

Pictures take near Lowrie's Den show the woodland area strewn with litter and alcohol bottles, with locals branding the situation "disgusting".

Sharing the images of the 'trashed' woodland space, local Kris, wrote: "So after getting my car kicked in the other night while at my mums, I thought I'd take a walk up to the woods to see where all those kids are going...and came across this...

"A part of the woods absolutely covered in empty alcohol bottles and cans...loads of dragon soup cans, this stuff is lethal, vodka and wine."

Other locals also hit out at the 'mess', saying: "What an absolute mess - It looks lovely up there aswell."

"For crying out loud, think the courts need to start handing out community service work for kids doing stupid stuff." - added another.

Another angry local, said: "What a bloody mess! If they are going to buy it at least bag up your sh*** - it’s disgusting take it with you and put in a bin! Imbeciles!!!"
