Midfielder misses training ahead of Nottingham Forest move as Matty Cash speculation grows

Fouad Bachirou is closing in on a move to Nottingham Forest and missed Malmo's training session today, according to reports in Sweden.

Website fotbollskanalen are reporting that Bachirou missed training with Malmo, managed by former AC Milan striker Jon Dahl Tomasson.

The same outlet is also claiming that Malmo's sporting director, Daniel Andersson, has confirmed that Bachirou is leaving Malmo.

Bachirou is a product of Paris Saint-Germain's academy and counts Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton and Swedish outfit Ostersunds among his former clubs.

Pre-season plans

Nottingham Forest will step up their preparations for the new season this week, with two behind-closed-doors friendlies.

Sabri Lamouchi ’s side will face newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion on Saturday at St George’s Park, with a noon kick-off.

And before that, they are due to face Port Vale on Wednesday at Loughborough University, where they have been based this week.

The Reds played their first summer fixture at the weekend, when they were beaten 2-0 by Oldham Athletic at the Nigel Doughty Academy.

Cash latest

Aston Villa continue to be linked with a move for Nottingham Forest defender Matty Cash.

Villa's Premier League rivals Sheffield United are also said to be keen while Burnley, West Ham United, Southampton and Fulham have all been credited with an interest.

West Ham were linked in January while Italian giants AC Milan are monitoring Cash having registered their interest in the New Year.

The Reds have valued Cash at £15 million after a fine season for the Reds, Sabri Lamouchi converting the midfielder into a right-back where he excelled in 2019-20.

Transfer talk

Championship rivals QPR are said to be “hopeful” of signing reported Nottingham Forest target Rob Dickie.

The Reds are among a number of clubs to have been linked with the Oxford United defender this summer, amid some tough competition for his signature.

It has been claimed Forest’s arch-enemies Derby County and Brentford are keen, as well as Premier League interest from the likes of Newcastle United, Leeds United, West Bromwich Albion, Burnley, Fulham and Southampton.

However, West London Sport report Rangers, managed by ex-Reds boss Mark Warburton, feel they have a chance of winning the race for Dickie.
