MOHALI: Gangster Kaushal Chaudhary, who is lodged in Karnal jail, conspired the killing of Youth Akali Dal leader Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky Middukhera. Along with Amit Dagar, another gangster lodged in Mandoli jail in Delhi, liaised talks with main conspirator Gaurav Padial alias Lucky Padial living in Armenia and their gang members, Sajjan Singh alias Bhola and Anil Kumal alias Latth to murder Middukhera, said senior superintendent of police (SSP) Satinder Singh.
Claiming to have solved the case with the arrest of Kaushal Chaudhary, the SSP said, “Gang members Sajjan Singh alias Bhola and Anil Kumal alias Latth killed Vicky Middukhera. They were probably hired by Gaurav Padial from Armenia to execute the killing.
However, we are yet to ascertain the main cause of the killing and who actually gave the contract to kill Middukhera. We have arrested Kaushal Chaudhary and have also attained production warrants of Amit Dagar, who will be brought from Mandoli jail in Delhi. He will also be arrested. They both are the main catalysts in executing the killing while lodged in their respective jails.”
SSP said that while studying and connecting vital pieces of evidence, Mohali police brought Kaushal Chaudhary from Karnal jail. During interrogation, he revealed the names of Sajjan Singh alias Bhola and Anil Kumal alias Latth, who killed Middukhera. Kaushal also told the police that he and Amit Dagar liasoned with Armenia-based gangster Gaurav Padial and gave the contacts of Sajjan Singh alias Bhola and Anil Kumal alias Latth to give the contract to kill Middukhera. Sajjan Singh alias Bhola and Anil Kumal alias Latth are absconding, he said.
Sajjan Singh alias Bhola belongs to Jhajjar in Haryana and Anil Kumar alias Latth is active in Delhi. They shot Vicky Middukhera dead, in Sector 71 on August 7 while he was coming out of a property dealer’s office.
Wanted in murder cases
Police said Sajjan and Anil are most wanted gangsters in Delhi and Haryana region. They were involved in more than 30 murders and several extortion cases. Police have dispatched teams for their arrest, following which the motive behind Middukhera’s murder will be revealed, they said.
The day Middukhera was killed, Devinder Bambiha gang claimed responsibility for the murder through a Facebook post. A day after, members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang pledged revenge. In another post on social media, gangster Sampat Nehra vowed to kill four of the rival gang members.
