Aden Flint completes Cardiff City transfer deal from Middlesbrough

Cardiff City have welcomed their newest player as Aden Flint completed his move from Middlesbrough.

The deal - thought to be worth £6m - has been completed, with the Bluebirds confirming on Friday afternoon that Flint has signed a three-year contract.

Flint, 30, only moved to the Riverside last summer in a £7m deal, and made 46 competitive appearances for Boro last season, but will now compete with Sean Morrison, Sol Bamba and Nelson at the centre of the Bluebirds' defence.

Warnock has wasted no time in replacing outgoing Bruno Manga, who has joined French club Dijon.

The commanding ex-Bristol centre-back follows in the footsteps of Will Vaulks, Curtis Nelson, Joe Day and the permanent acquisition of Aaron Bolger.

After signing his contract at Cardiff City Stadium, Aden said: "I'm excited to be here and thankful for the opportunity. It came about really quick.

"Everyone wants to play in the Premier League, and that's why I've joined. Hopefully we can get the right results, get promoted again, and have another opportunity to do that.

"I'm looking forward to getting going. I can't wait for the first match."

Elsewhere on the transfer front, West Brom have unveiled Kenneth Zohore as their new signing after the Bluebirds agreed an £8m fee for the Dane, while Bruno Manga has joined French club Dijon.
