Middlesbrough include Darren Randolph in squad for Tottenham trip as West Ham transfer hangs in the balance

Darren Randolph is in the Middlesbrough squad for Tuesday night's FA Cup replay at Tottenham as West Ham weigh up whether to press ahead with their move to sign the goalkeeper.

The Hammers have agreed a £4million deal to sign Randolph but the transfer is on hold after the club discovered issues during a medical.

Randolph has not played since November 24 because of a thigh problem and West Ham have wanted to make further checks on the issue.

The 32-year-old Republic of Ireland international if now fit again and has travelled to London with the Middlesbrough squad while West Ham mull over whether to proceed with his signing.

Randolph, though, is unlikely to play, with Tomas Mejias expected to start in goal.

West Ham’s search for a new goalkeeper is less pressing than it might have been after scans showed Lukasz Fabianski will be out for just a couple of weeks with a hip injury.

Fabianski felt pain in the same muscle that kept him out for three months at the end of last year, but the problem is not as bad as first feared and he could miss just four matches.
