Middlesbrough boss Jonathan Woodgate tips Bristol City for play-off finish

Jonathan Woodgate has backed Bristol City to finish in the play-offs this season.

The Middlesbrough boss brings his side to Ashton Gate on Saturday to face the in-form Robins side.

City and Boro were involved in the play-off race last season and, whilst the Robins have started the season well, Woodgate's start to life as Riverside boss has been a little more sluggish.

They have taken five points from five matches, and Woodgate says he is not expecting an easy game on Saturday.

He told Teesside Live: " Bristol City are a good side. They lost in the opening game against Leeds but they are unbeaten in four now.

"I watched the Leeds game as well as all the other games too.

"They have been together a few years now and they are a good side.

"Lee Johnson has done a really good job there. They will be there or thereabouts this season, top six I’d say.

"They sold a couple of players in the summer but they have brought a few in too.

"They are a good side and they’ll be a good test for us."
