Middlesbrough 1-1 Tottenham: Lucas Moura spares Spurs blushes but Boro earn replay

More misery was piled on Jose Mourinho as Tottenham failed to beat Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.

Spurs have been left with an unwanted replay and another fixture on an already-stacked calendar.

Lucas Moura's second half header levelled the game shortly after Ashley Fletcher caught the Spurs back line napping.

It leaves Mourinho again with more questions about his side than answers, as pressure starts ramping up on him and his ability to get the more out of the squad that let Mauricio Pochettino down earlier this season.

Spurs had dominated the opening 45 minutes but as soon as they came out for the second, they were caught cold.

Fletcher beat the offside trap and raced down the middle of the pitch to fire past Paulo Gazzaniga to give the hosts a surprise lead.

Mourinho had a face like thunder on the sidelines as he was left wondering how he can sort their disastrous form.

But there was a reprieve and it came in the form of Moura.

Serge Aurier, who you could argue as one of the most improved players of Mourinho's reign so far, delivered a pinpoint delivery into the so-called danger area.

Moura was waiting and simply had to cushion the ball with his head past the helpless Tomas Meijas.
