By EUAN ROBERTSON

Former Motherwell goalkeeper Jordan Archer has expressed his delight after sealing a short term contract at Middlesbrough.

The 27 year-old has teamed up with Neil Warnock at the English Championship side after failing to impress at Motherwell.

The former Scotland internationalist was signed in October after Trevor Carson was injured but Archer only made four appearances for the 'Well but he’s delighted to secure a deal at the North East club.

He told the ‘Boro website: "I caught wind of it a couple of weeks ago and heard of the interest. I've been following the Championship this season and the boys have been doing fantastic.

“With the addition of the gaffer, it made it pretty much impossible to turn down. know a few of the boys and all of them have given glowing reports. I got a phone call from the gaffer the other day, it's made the transition very easy.

"I came here last season before I went to Fulham, so I know my way around the place. The club is in a much better position in regards to where they are in the league. I'm just really looking forward to getting in amongst the boys."
