Microsoft to share Xbox Series X gameplay for the first time next week

Microsoft is going to share the first ever Xbox Series X gameplay, showcasing how games will look on the next-generation console.

The event will be held during a special Inside Xbox stream on Thursday, May 7, with a focus on games that will be available on the next console, the Xbox Series X.

Microsoft's premiere will give us a glimpse at next-generation console gaming from the software maker's global development partners, with titles from Xbox Game Studios being shown off at a later date.

As well, following the news that the next Assassin's Creed game, Valhalla, will be a Series X exclusive following a release date later this year, we should get a look at the Valhalla gameplay during the broadcast too.

“So pumped to see our partners showing us the first look at Xbox Series X gameplay next week,” said Aaron Greenberg, general manager of Xbox games marketing.

“Also know the Xbox Game Studios teams are hard at work on some big summer plans. More details soon!”.

It makes sense that we'd see what in-house Xbox games will be coming to the console closer to June, which is of course when the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) was supposed to take place before its cancellation.

At the moment, Microsoft is charging ahead with the Xbox Series X and is seemingly leaps and bounds ahead of where the PlayStation 5 is currently at. But this is only because of how vocal Microsoft has been about its new console and the fact they're already going to demonstrate gameplay.

It was only last month that Sony gave us a 'deep dive' into the PS5's systems, with no word of a full design reveal other than a controller, the DualSense.

Microsoft’s full Inside Xbox broadcast will take place on Thursday, May 7 at 4 pm BST.
