Microsoft tipped to potentially unveil an Xbox PC later this year: what we know

Xbox logo.

A new report from Windows Central suggests Microsoft is developing an Xbox-branded PC that could be revealed this year. The OEM computer could use the Xbox Full Screen Experience on Windows that debuted with the Asus ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handheld consoles in October.

Windows Central argued that Xbox actually had a decent 2025, with a ton of first-party titles shipped last year, Xbox Game Pass expanding, Xbox Play Anywhere, and the Asus partnership. Unfortunately, Microsoft seems hellbent on tarnishing its image.

The company raised prices on the Xbox Series X and Series S twice last year, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is begging people not to call AI 'slop', and the Xbox closed multiple studios after its giant Activision acquisition, laying off thousands of workers. Plus, Xbox faces a growing boycott against its products due to Microsoft's affiliation with the Israeli government.

What is the Xbox PC

Windows Central says it has seen "credible rumors" that Microsoft could unveil an OEM Xbox PC. However, the report is light on details regarding what the PC could offer. They do caution that "time will tell" whether this device will actually debut.

In October of 2025, Xbox president Sarah Bond hinted that the next Xbox console would be a "very premium, very high-end curated experience" when asked if it would be more PC-like. She likened it to the ROG Xbox Ally X.

Over the summer, a leaked "Magnus APU" suggested Microsoft was working on an upgradeable console that would get more frequent updates than your usual seven-year console lifecycle. Basically, the leak hinted that the next Xbox would be more akin to a pre-built PC.

Whether or not Microsoft reveals a new Xbox this year, both it and the expected PlayStation 6 console have been tipped to launch in 2027. So we have some time for Microsoft to right the boat.
