Microsoft has produced a roll-up security patch for Internet Explorer versions 5 to 6. This should be useful to people who have not kept their browsers up to date. And as with vaccination, its impact is not just personal: almost all the virus activity affecting Outlook Express exploits vulmerabilities that have already been fixed, sometimes well over a year ago. All the individual patches have been well tested by this stage, though the bundle has not.
