Micropub boss says 'we haven't got a drive thru' after car crashes through front

A car ploughed through the front of a micropub as drinkers sat inside.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Merseyside Police rushed to The Bow Legged Beagle on Allport Lane in Bromborough at around 3.50pm on Friday, October 7, following reports of a crash. Once officers and firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a silver Peugeot 308 had crashed into the front of micro pub as drinkers sat inside.

The two people who were in the car, who The ECHO understands were elderly, managed to get themselves out of the vehicle and were taken to hospital to be checked over. Their injuries are not believed to be serious.

The fire service sent two engines to the scene and put up a small cordon around the shop. They isolated the battery of the vehicle involved and a short time later it was removed from the front of the business.

At the height of the incident there were also four police cars and a North West Ambulance Service vehicle. The micro pub took to Facebook after the incident to let the public know it was still open and it would "take more than that to close The Beagle".

They said: "No mate we haven't got a drive through. Thankfully no one was hurt. Elderly driver included.

"Hope you get through the check up at the hospital ok. We are open, minus one door and thank you to everyone inside the pub at the time. You are all great people.

"It'll take more than that to close The Beagle."
