Just after her 25th birthday, Libby Jones finally receives a letter which she has been expecting for a long time. Afterall Libby will get to know about her birth parents. But apart from the information, she also gets to know that she has inherited a home worth millions of dollars in a posh locality in London. Libby discovers through her birth-parents' solicitor that she was 10 months old when her parents died along with a stranger in their house. Their mysterious death appeared as a cult-inspired mass suicide and Libby was the only survivor from that incident. Also, at the time of the incident, Libby had two teenage siblings- Lucy and Henry- but they are untraceable since the unfortunate deaths happened. Determined to know what happened on that fateful night, Libby meets journalist Miller Roe, who covered the story about her family years ago. Together, they are on a mission to find Libby's brother and sister and uncover the house's mysteries. Meanwhile, Lucy is shown as homeless, living in France with her two children. And Henry is trying to recollect the details from his past that changed his life forever.
'The Family Upstairs' features multiple storylines, and is narrated from three different points of views. With various twists and turns, this fast-paced thriller can be read in a single sitting.
