Micro review: 'The Death of Kirti Kadakia: A Temple Hill Mystery' by Meeti Shroff-Shah

Highlights

Set in a posh fictional neighborhood of Mumbai, Meeti Shroff-Shah's debut novel 'The Death of Kirti Kadakia' is an engaging whodunit like no other. The book is Shortlisted for the AutHer Awards 2023 in Debut category.

Meeti Shroff-Shah's 'The Death of Kirti Kadakia' follows the story of an NRI novelist Radhika Zaveri who returns to Mumbai to mend her broken heart. During her visit, tragedy comes knocking her door when her close friend Sanjana loses her father Kirti Kadakia, a Gujarati businessman, to suicide. Mr Kadakia was a strong-willed and tough man, and so the news of his death shocks everyone. Meanwhile, Radhika senses that the Kadakia family is not telling the whole truth behind Mr Kadakia's sudden death, and their young maid also seems to be terrified. Their meddlesome neighbor too appears to be hiding something. In this tough time as Radhika helps her friend Sanjana get closure, she realizes that the Kadakia family knows something about Mr Kadakia's death, which they aren't letting others know.

This page turner will keep you on the edge of your seat to find out who killed Mr Kadakia and why. Murder mystery lovers would like to add this brand new novel to their reading list this year. The book was also Longlisted for UK's CWA Dagger Award 2022.
