'Simply Lies' follows the story of an ex-cop Mickey Gibson, who is trying to restart her life after her husband divorced and left her when she was pregnant for the second time. She moves to Williamsburg, Virginia, where she joins ProEye-- an investigative firm. One day, she gets a call from a woman named Arlene Robinson who claims to be working with Mickey’s boss. Arlene tells Mickey to go to a mansion for work but when Mickey arrives, she finds a decomposing body of an old man. Mickey is now being suspected to be involved in the crime by the police, more so after ProEye declines Arlene Robinson to be working for them. Mickey needs to think and act fast to clear her name off the crime...
Mickey's character and the twists and turns she goes through in the story, would keep the readers hooked till the end. Thriller readers and fans of David Baldacci would like to add this standalone novel to their reading list this year.
