Dundee United boss Micky Mellon is being lined-up by Doncaster Rovers as they look to push into the League One play-offs.
The former midfielder moved to Tannadice in the summer to replace Robbie Neilson, signing a two-year contract.
He has kept United in the Premiership on their return to the top flight and narrowly missed out on a place in this season's top six.
And that has caught the eye of Doncaster as they could look to offer Mellon a quick return to English football.
The Yorkshire outfit put defender Andy Butler in interim charge of the club until the end of the season after the departure of Darren Moore to Sheffield Wednesday in March and their board stated they believed they could still reach the play-offs.

But their weekend 4-1 thumping at home to Wigan Athletic was their fourth league defeat in a row and they have failed to record a win in their last eight games ending any chance of a play-off spot and Butler's hopes of getting the job permanently.
United agreed on a compensation package with Tranmere to land Mellon in July and signed him up on a two-year deal. They wouldn't be keen on losing the former West Brom and Blackpool player.
Doncaster have also been linked with former Salford City manager Richie Wellens and also former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt, but no outstanding candidate has been put forward.
And the Keepmoat Stadium outfit see experienced Mellon as the ideal man to take them up to the Championship after seven years away from that league.
