The late Mickey Rooney, who passed away last April, was one of the actors featured in this year’s In Memoriam segment of the Academy Awards.

Rooney, who was in attendance at last year’s ceremony, won an Academy Juvenile Award at the age of 17 and an Honorary Award at the age of 62 for his 50 years in the industry. He also received nominations for roles in Babes in Arms, The Human Comedy and The Bold and the Brave.

In a career that spanned ten decades, he starred in more than 300 films. He was most recently seen on screen in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb and has a role in a forthcoming adaptation of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

The actor passed away at his North Hollywood home last year at the age of 93 after battling a long illness.

Other major names featured in this year’s memorial section included Robin Williams, Bob Hoskins and Lauren Bacall.

The Academy Awards are taking place at the Dolby theatre in Los Angeles and are being hosted by Gone Girl star Neil Patrick Harris.
