Mickey Harte hoping for more of the same from Tyrone after Kildare win

Mickey Harte wants more of the same after watching his Tyrone side explode into life in this year's championship.

After the perplexing display against Donegal and over-powering Longford last week but failing to pull away, this big victory over Kildare was more like it for the Red Hands boss.

And so roll on Monday's fourth round qualifier draw. "Now we're only one game away from the last eight, and that's very important," said Harte.

"We now just have to forget about that game, look at who we get on Monday and prepare as diligently for them.

"And if we can produce a performance like that, I think we'll take a bit of beating."

Harte is concerned over the fitness of Michael Cassidy, one of his goalscorers in Newbridge, but believes his matchday options will be strengthened for next weekend.

"I don't know what the injury was that made Michael Cassidy come off but it will be a pity if he's not fit to play," said Harte.

"But Paudie Hampsey is a week nearer to being available again and Richie Donnelly too, and that will give us more strength, whether they start or are on the bench.

"They were on the bench today and we were hoping we wouldn't have to use them, and it worked out that way.

"It will be good if we have a full hand to speak from, but I'll just have to find out what happened to Michael.

"We were able to play the game on our terms and when we could do that, we had control of the game."

Lilywhites boss Cian O'Neill was keeping his cards close to his chest in terms of his own future, but added that if his side had been hammered then he would be gone.

Although beaten by 10 points, it was a four-point game until the last 10 minutes.

"It would be different if they got whitewashed there, but they got going," O'Neill said.

"My mind was set on a recovery session tomorrow morning and planning for next week and that's how you need to plan.

"The guys, although they'll be devastated with the defeat, they died with their boots on, and never stopped trying to play.

"You just want to spend a bit of time with them, the management in the backroom who have all been phenomenal this year and the last few years. That's really where my head is at".
