Mickey 17 Release Date Pushed To Jan. 31, 2025.

Mickey 17 film rescheduled to release on Jan 31, 2025.

Mickey 17, the highly anticipated film from Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho, has been rescheduled to hit theaters on January 31, 2025, as announced by Warner Bros. The movie was initially slated for release on March 29, 2024, but faced delays due to production disruptions caused by strikes.

The decision to push back the release date came as no surprise, given the absence of a trailer as the original premiere date approached. Speculation about a potential delay had been mounting, ultimately leading to the rescheduling of the film.

Based on the 2022 novel 'Mickey 7' by author Edward Ashton, the movie follows the story of Mickey 7, a space colonist referred to as an expendable. Mickey 7 is actually the seventh iteration of a man named Mickey Barnes, with each colony featuring an expendable crew member who undertakes dangerous tasks and is regenerated through clone bodies upon death.

The sequel to the novel, titled 'Antimatter Blues,' was published last year, further expanding on the intriguing narrative created by Ashton. Director Bong Joon Ho is expected to infuse his unique style and vision into the film adaptation, which boasts a star-studded cast including Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.

Produced by Plan B Entertainment, with Dooho Choi of Kate Street Picture Company and Bong Joon Ho through his Offscreen, Inc. banner, 'Mickey 17' promises to offer audiences a captivating and thought-provoking cinematic experience that blends science fiction with human drama.
