Ireland boss Mick McCarthy is unsure if he will bring former England under-19 cap Danny Crowley on his Portugal training camp before the Euro 2020 qualifiers in June.
McCarthy plans to watch Crowley play for Willem II in the Dutch Cup final against Ajax on May 5th.
"I haven’t seen him," said the Ireland boss. "What can I do with that until I see him? I’m not just bringing people along for the ride. So, without me watching him first, I can’t give you an answer.
"There are players here and in England who might think they have a chance. I haven’t seen him at all."
Stoke's Nathan Collins could be among a number of young players who go to the Toulon Tournament with Stephen Kenny instead.
"I think Stephen should have the choice of the youngsters," said McCarthy, who also reiterated his support for FAI staff in difficult times.

The 60-year-old made a midweek Abbotstown visit to talk to staff. "I took the mickey," he said. "I was saying, ‘Who are you lads working for?’ and they whispered, ‘The FAI.’
"I was, ‘Come on, no it’s not...(that bad)’.
"Let me tell you, I’m a fully paid up member of the belligerent club.
"But talk about the pride it gives you because the 17s, the 19s, the women’s teams...Stephen (Kenny) had a great result with the 21s. They’re all doing great.
"We won two (senior) games. There's a lot to be proud about with the football.
"I told them, 'Because they can’t affect it, don’t let everything else drag them down'.
"They should be proud of their jobs".
