Mick McCarthy has left Blackpool by 'mutual consent' less than three months after becoming manager.
The former Republic of Ireland boss took charge of the Seasiders in January, replacing Michael Appleton with Blackpool languishing in the bottom two of the Championship.
In his 14 games since taking over, McCarthy has just two wins to his name and departs with the club seven points from safety. Friday evening's defeat to Cardiff proved to be the last straw and Blackpool are now just one point above bottom of the table Wigan.

On Saturday morning, the club released a statement confirming that both McCarthy and his assistant Terry Connor had left their roles.
"Blackpool Football Club can confirm Mick McCarthy and Terry Connor have both left the Club by mutual consent," begins the statement.
"With results on the pitch not improving in recent weeks, the decision has been agreed by both parties that a change is needed."
McCarthy said, "After recent performances and results, I have thought long and hard and feel this is the best decision for everyone concerned with the football club.
"I've loved my time here and thank everyone for their support. I wish everyone well going forward.”
