Music fans have been left shaken after the news broke that Fleetwood Mac founding member Peter Green has died.
A statement told that he had died "peacefully in his sleep" at age of 73 - with tributes pouring in from dedicated fans and the music industry alike.
Peter's co-founder, Mick Fleetwood, was especially close to him and back in January decided to put on gather some of his music biz mates for an unforgettable series of concerts in honour of his "greatest mentor."
Coming to the London Palladium alongside names like Steven Tyler, Noel Gallagher and bandmate Christine McVie, Mick gave the audience a dose of the old and new.
Towards the end of the show, every performer of the night returned to the stage to blast out Fleetwood Mac's biggest hits - many of which were penned or composed by Peter.
The evening was broken up by some powerful words of friendship from Mick, who displayed remarkable energy considering he'd just wrapped up a big tour.
And before the show arrived, he made sure everyone knew what it was about - Peter's brillaint musical mind.
He told Rolling Stone at the time: "I wanted people to know that I did not form this band.
"Peter Green did."
He added: "I wanted to celebrate those early years of Fleetwood Mac, which started this massive ball that went down the road over the last 50 years."
Peter's solicitors confirmed earlier today the news of his death.
Their statement read: "It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Green announce his death this weekend, peacefully in his sleep.
"A further statement will be provided in the coming days."
Peter was plagued during his time in the limelight by mental health struggles, namely a battle with schizophrenia.
He made the decision to leave the band in 1970, just three years after its formation.
He told the LA Times: "I was throwing things around and smashing things up.
"I smashed the car windscreen. The police took me to the station and asked if I wanted to go the hospital.
"I said yes because I didn't feel safe going back anywhere else."
Since his death, tributes have flooded in from adoring fans and the music business alike.
Johnny Marr, Slash, Cat Stevens, Bernie Marsden and Peter Frampton have been among those to thank Peter for the music and emphasise how much he'll be missed.
