Chelsea take on Bohemians in their first pre-season friendly of the season tonight (Wednesday), and the team to start Frank Lampard's first game in charge has been revealed.
most of the squad, apart from them that arrived into Dublin on Monday, is expected to play a part in the game, but the former midfielder has opted for a mixture of youth and experience for his first Chelsea starting eleven.
There are however two names included that may surprise Blues fans ahead of the game.
Both midfielder Danny Drinkwater and striker Michy Batshuayi found themselves somewhat frozen out under former manager Maurizio Sarri, but have been given an early chance to impress their new manager by being included in the first half eleven for the game against Bohemians.
Drinkwater has made just 23 appearances for Chelsea since his move from Leicester City in the summer of 2017. The ex-England midfielder failed to play a single competitive game for the Blues last season.
Batshuayi has also found game time limited at Stamford Bridge, although he did make 11 Premier League appearances last season before going out on loan to Crystal Palace in January.
Following the announcement of the team news, Chelsea fans, who were obviously happy to have football back in their lives, took to social media to give their reaction.
