Michy Batshuayi's first words after sealing Crystal Palace loan move

Michy Batshuayi has said he feels like he is home after sealing a loan move to Crystal Palace.

The Chelsea striker extended his current contract at Stamford Bridge for a further 12 months, which will now expire in 2022.

It is the striker's second loan spell at Selhurst Park following his six-month deal in January 2019, when he scored six goals in 13 appearances for the Eagles.

Batshuayi was a popular figure with Palace fans, and will no doubt ingratiate himself further with his latest comments after committing his short-term future to the club.

"It's a pleasure, I'm very happy," Batshuayi said on YouTube. "I see my teammates and the gaffer today, I'm very happy, everything is right, it's good.

"I feel like I’m home now, so it’s good. But I need to do a good season here, to work a lot with my teammates and I want to do my best here.

"It’s not my first time here. I know the teammates, I know the gaffer, I know how the club works here. For me, it’s the best decision. I'm happy, the coach is happy, my teammates are happy. Let's get to work.

"Every player want to be happy in the club, to work and play. It's very important to improve too, and today I need that. I think it's the best decision for myself to come here and improve.

"I'm very happy to be here, and happy you keep sending me a lot of messages. I love this and I hope to do a good job this season and win a lot of games, and for you to be happy for Palace again. I love you!"
