Michy Batshuayi hoping to hit top form at Crystal Palace after debut cameo

Michy Batshuayi has vowed to produce his best form for Crystal Palace after making an immediate impact on his debut in the 2-0 win over Fulham.

The striker arrived on loan from Chelsea shortly before the conclusion on Thursday of the January transfer window, and only met his new manager and team-mates on Friday.

However, he was summoned from the bench by boss Roy Hodgson and just five minutes into his debut, it was his shot which led to Jeffrey Schlupp's 87th-minute tap-in.

Fittingly, the lack of a consistent goalscorer has been Palace's biggest weakness this season but Batshuayi is confident he can contribute to the cause.

"I'm going to bring as much as I can to help the team win and get some game time to be at my best," he told his new club's official website.

"(The win over Fulham was) very important. It's good for the team and for me."

The Belgian started on the bench having not played a game for four weeks after being frozen out on loan at Valencia and admits he needs time to adjust.

"I feel good but I need to train with the team so to have the whole team together will be something that's good," he added.

Crystal Palace face West Ham at home in their next fixture and after his instant effect on his team's fortunes, Batshuayi could be handed his full debut for the Eagles.
