The University of Michigan will face Iowa in Saturday’s Big Ten Championship Game. The Wolverines announced Thursday they will have a special patch in the form of a block “O” on their uniforms to honor those who lost their lives in the tragic Oxford High School shooting Tuesday.
“The ‘TM’ and ‘42′ pay tribute to football player Tate Myre.
Myre, Hana St. Juliana, Madisyn Baldwin, and Justin Shilling, the four students who lost their lives, are represented by four blue hearts.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday when a 15-year-old student at Oxford High School shot and killed four students and injured seven others, including a teacher.

The football coach at Oxford is Zach Line, who played football for the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.
A petition has been launched to have Oxford’s football stadium renamed in Myre’s memory.
“Tate is not just a hero to his fellow students at Oxford high school but a legend, his act of bravery should be remembered forever and passed down through generations. He put his life in danger to try and help the thousands of other students at Oxford High School,” the petition reads.
