Michigan State vs. Maryland canceled again due to COVID-19

For a second time this season, Michigan State’s game against Maryland has been canceled due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the Terps’ program. The Spartans were originally supposed to play Maryland on Nov. 21 but that game was canceled due to COVID-19.

The cancelation of Saturday’s game against Maryland will most likely end the Spartans’ season. MSU is currently 2-5 on the season.

There is still a chance MSU could play another Big Ten team this Saturday but at this point in the week that seems unlikely. Iowa is the only other current team that is available to play this weekend that doesn’t have an opponent.

There is also still a chance MSU could receive a bowl bid. Head coach Mel Tucker said earlier this week that he would “love” to play in a bowl game should the Spartans get offered a bowl bid. We should have a better idea on if MSU will be getting a bid later this week.
